- Split by Keith Fullerton Whitman / Floris Vanhoof
Beautiful three-colour silkscreened covers on this new split LP of analogue synth tomfoolery from Keith Fullerton Whitman and Floris Vanhoof. On Whitman’s side there’s some bright modular bleep-loops which descend into some alien experimental noise in the middle before coming out stompingly danceable towards the end. It’s deeply psychedelic, mind-bending synth action, quite hypnotic in places, confusing in others.
Over on the other side Vanhoof’s contribution is much more on the ambient side, with fluttering synth swells drenched in dub echo and subtle little drones and details ramping up the dread levels. It’s like the soundtrack to sweating out a summer fever, with a strange drowsy intensity to it in places. Very different stuff on each side, then, but top class contributions from both.
