Is it just me or is acid back with a vengeance lately? There’s been all sorts of ace comps, the new Ceephax is devastatingly good, Clan Destine have made a very strong start to a series of ‘Dark Acid’ 12”s and this Norwegian guy Stian Gjevik has turned up putting records out under the names EOD and CN which knock me flat on my arse every time.

After his self-released ‘Volume 1’ blew our Brian’s face off, here’s ‘Volume 2’, once again presented as a long 14 track CD or a truncated 7 track 12”, and once again it’s everything you could hope for. Crisp, intelligently crafted beats, hyperactive bleepy melodies (‘The People Of The Basins’ is an adrenalised modular workout that’ll leave your jaw on the floor), pumping 303 basslines, amazing bright synth sounds and hooks to spare - this is sure to make even the most downhearted of partygoers shake themselves about. Get this, and get the first volume while it’s still available too!
