If you are reading this you must be either our proof reader extraordinaire Mike or be very bored indeed. This is my last review of the day and it will be followed be a big juicy sleep if I have my way. This is a record that I know little about, the label is Don’t Be Afraid and Mgun are back on there after being somewhere else for awhile. The music is a squelchy take on danceable techno, I say techno as I’m finding it hard to relate to what genre this music is in. I know one thing....it’s uplifting. The second track particular...now let me have a look, where are my reading glasses.... its called ‘Proxy’ has bursts of pure unadulterated joyful synth blasted along with some strident beats. i like it. It reminds me of a drunken night in the Pennines....or Ibiza.
I’ve found a bit on the internet, dude is from Detroit and specialises in engaging, noisy electro. B side flips out with bleepy techno, much more acidy than the synthy strung out A side. Or I could have played the B side first, and at the wrong speed and the track I loved earlier may not be called ‘Proxy’ at all. Tell you what google it, give it a listen & if you like, buy and we’ll pretend none of this shoddy excuse for a review ever happened.
