Hmmm... Discipline. We all need it, baby. Oh yes, thats better. The first paragraph of the press release states how this Oakland, California four piece are more suited to the damp British climate. I was thinking just the same thing. The never ending torrents of rain, your long raincoat traipsing through puddles, running to Walter Wilsons through a storm to get a pint of milk and some change for the gas meter, all of those things come to mind when listening to their rain lashed take on virile post punk. In fact king of all things 80’s and bleak Mark Burgess (The Chameleons) is on co-production duties here and it is my duty to report that guitars are regularly flanged.

Their sound is probably as close as it gets to sounding like Siouxie and the Banshees without actually being Savages. Opener ‘Stare Back’ is a highlight  - they have a taut, wiry sound that is at its most off its rails on this tune and it pays dividends, listen for the squally guitars, dub inflected bass and chanted Slits like vocals. Other tracks are less unhinged, they remind me of Warpaint in that they sound completely different from them, but if I say its a taut and punchy Warpaint in thrall to everything British and underground circa 1983 hopefully you’ll get the picture.
