8/10 Ian Staff review, 25 April 2013

French experimental artist Christophe Bailleau teams up here with C-J Larsgarden (Ondo, Yrsel) and Thomas Jonsson (I’m Kingfisher) to create a lush ambient sound of sweeping electronica and fluttering acoustics, occasional vocals like on ‘Cuts’ add to the magical flow of sounds that range from near nothingness on ‘Oceans’ to ambient glitch on ‘Manta Ray’. The calming fluidity is interspersed with unnerving discordance but never strays into dark waters.

All too many times this kind of music can become part of the furniture and often has nothing much really to say. ‘Peloton’ however seems more creative in its process, experimental yet accessible like a beat-less Arovane or Ulrich Schnauss. The problem is with these kind of one off experiments with various musicians is that we may never hear anything like this again, which is a real shame because Forest City have created something that shouldn’t just end here!
