6/10 Ian Staff review, 30 May 2013

Snorre Snøjøst Henriksen is the man behind this epic piece of Norwegian ambient synth, ‘Glaciers’ is two sides of slowly enveloping soundscapes, side A ‘Serpents Tale’ begins with an almost silent hum that slowly builds into a journey through space and beyond, drawing you closer and closer to some kind of alien landscape. This is total sci-fi ambience, with the storytelling sounds of Pete Namlook and the ambient dub of The Orb this is a tripped out vision of the future.

Side B ‘Night Train’ feels like the story has changed gear a little and we’re into a more 80’s electro synth theme complete with analog rhythms and synthetic high-hats, ‘Glaciers’ is a record that starts off to be quite promising and there’s some moments of interesting ambience in there but it somehow leaves you feeling a little unfulfilled.
