Purveyors of high-quality Filth from the Outback for a few years now, Aloha is Cuntz second album, and it's even better than the first. It's nasty, scuzzy and it'll smash your ears in with a hammer before sewing new ones back on. Your mum probably wouldn't be a fan. The tribal, repetitive drum beats remind me of King Coffee's unbeatable drumming for the Butthole Surfers (especially locust Abortion Technician) and the vocal make me think of what Hugh Cornwell might sound like if drunk a vat of acid and forgot how to sing. A guitar is a real treat, a Keith Levene-esque squalling, screaming mess of noise, while the bass has just enough clarity to compliment the rest of the instruments nicely (without sounding smooth, of course - nothing on this album sounds like it was recorded within a 100-mile radius of a can polish) Homeless opens the album and you'll certainly know if Cuntz are your sort of band straight away. If you like your music loud, violent, raw and aggressive this should be for you. If not, why the fuck are you even looking at this?
