Now when regarding a new Seasick Steve record, you know he's not going to be re-inventing the musical wheel, but what you do get is a high-tempo, fuzzy bluesy rock (apart from the pretty country ballad "Purple Shadows") album. The record does have a bigger sound to it, with Seasick using various guest musicians to add a bit of meat to the tracks. If Seasick drafted in a producer, instead of doing the job himself, it may add a different dimension to work (Rick Rubin springs to mind), but it's still an highly enjoyable listen.
