Here come the Palma Violets doing their thing. A thing that washes pretty much straight past my ageing ears and into those of people much younger than myself. They kind of follow on, I guess, from The Libertines, a band I hated and still hate with a passion that borders on murderous, but with the bouncy singalong festival appeal of The Vaccines. They do, however, have songs...not great ones admittedly.

They infuse a kind of 1960s vibe into their compositions with reverb aplenty and vocals distorted in that Julian Casablancas style. The second track here is my favourite out of the two, a sunny, surfy thing that a bit of Ramones’y fun if nothing else. Comes on 7” and, bizarrely, CD single.
