On this CD, Patrick “Eluder” Benolkin treats us to some trance-inducing deep space music inspired by lectures on astronomy; a patient tapestry of deep, rumbling swells and subtle, glimmering drones which find a path somewhere between Stars Of The Lid, Deathprod, Chris Watson, Biosphere and Datashock.

It’s one of those records where there’s so little happening that it makes a reviewer’s job pretty difficult - it’s probably best appreciated on headphones in an anechoic chamber, but today the office will have to do. There’s very little happening here, but what little there is is graceful, immersive and epic, flooding your senses with dark velvety ambience which melts and morphs like an opiate-induced lucid dream. There’s a lovely spot-varnished thick card gatefold sleeve too if that kind of thing is important to you.
