Swedish artist Jan Svensson has been releasing music as Frak since early cassette releases on his own Börft Records imprint back in 1987 but it's only recently that he seems to be getting the kudos he deserves for the project. Partly due I think to his Muzika Electronic LP for Digitalis. Here we have a 6 track EP/ mini-album clocking in at just under 40  minuets that gets going with the title track which has howling creepy synths, a gritty downer analogue riff, skittering hi-hats and marching kick drums then some crashes and dubbed out effects.

'Talk On Answer' is a sci-fi electro burner somewhere between Drexciya and Dopplereffekt but a little more quirky. 'Bonga Dance' is a dirty analogue electro-ripper with chugging drum machines and a bubbling/ gritty riff with a touch of EBM flavour. It's reasonably low tempo but will still get them stomping along on the dancefloor. 'Classic Bass' is a cheery tune with undecipherable vocal samples and a sort of squeaky melody which mutates and goes all bleepy while the bassline is simple but infectious.

'RZA' sounds like Giorgio Moroder on amphetamines with some really wonky sounds and phasing synths. It's pretty playful and a tad deranged. 'Controlled Tie' finishes the set with a mid tempo thumping kick and layered analogue melodies. I could well imagine this coming out on Rephlex actually as it has a that Braindance vibe with Chicago style snares and a nice squirming acid line. Probably my favourite tune on the record.
