Here’s a new 2LP from Umor Rex, whose S ND Y P RL RS LP was a surprise highlight of last year. They’ve been kind enough to send us a handful of copies of the green vinyl edition, too, which has been pressed in an edition of just 150 (which we're sold out of now so only black vinyl is available!) ! On the record, Atkinson collects a selection of music previously only available on scarce DIY releases, drifting through four sides of gorgeous ambience full of submerged piano, detached guitar and harp twinkles, unsettling creaks and clicks and ethereal vocals.

It’s a slow and subtle ride which falls somewhere between the heavy driftings of Christina Carter or Grouper, the post-industrial relaxo-ambience of theapplesofenergy or Scissors & Sellotape, and the free ghostliness of people like Ela Orleans, Heidi Harris or Je Suis Le Petit Chevalier (Phil has just pointed out to me that Felicia Atkinson actually IS Je Suis Le Petit Chevalier, so I guess that explains that!). It’s beautiful stuff, haunted and slow and simultaneously awkwardly physical and relaxing.
