- Furrball / Boiler by Zed Bias & Paleman

The latest emission from Loefah’s Swamp 81 stable is a plate from oldskool garage don Zed Bias & Paleman. On the topside is ‘Furrball’ a quirky techno/house hybrid with rubbery acidic build-up that eventually climaxes with a cheeky fadeout and then back in with chunky, stompin’ drums. It’s a playful little number engineered with crowd teasing dynamics. I’m fairly sure this must have been getting rinsed on dubplate in the clubs judging by the pre-order figured I’ve just clocked.
On the underside is ‘Boiler’ which is a mid-paced, breezy, bouncy tune with wobbly garage bassline, again with chunky garage/house percussion and lots of neat little production tricks to keep it interesting. Vinyl only - no digital - which I do find a little strange as if you were to catch Loefah DJ’ing you’d be highly unlikely to hear him playing vinyl. 180g wax job in tasteful sleeve designed by Will Bankhead in his signature style. Nothing blows me away here but it’s steady DJ tool fodder.
as above only for kids who like childish music no new sounds created through it lack lustered performance of bribling sound.
