Control Unit, the duo of Silvia Kastel and Ninni Morgia, have another LP of their curious post-industrial analogue shudderscapes out, this time on Alt. Vinyl after previous offerings on Backwards and Clan Destine. ‘In The Frame’ is a creepingly relentless collage of wild synth abstractions, simple hypnotic beats and distant, breathy coos from Kastel, conjuring up a soundworld that’s sounds like Sun Araw investigating his dark side with the help of Throbbing Gristle.

There’s a bit of Robedoor in there too, or Failing Lights maybe - a sense of freeform analogue madness which seems unstructured and yet is steadily and relentlessly queasy and sometimes approaching panic-inducing. Woozy bass throbs flood your senses as antiquated drum machines hiss out a tinny beat and chopped, alien vocals drift around on top like souls bereft of bodies, wandering the aether in search of a home.
