I like People’s Temple. On their two albums so far they’ve managed to knock out a disarmingly vital mixture of ‘60s garage rock and r’n’b for a sound that’s like Ty Segall knocking out some pepped up Rolling Stones covers, and here they've got a single featuring two songs recorded live on tape by Jack the lad of Stripy Whites fame.
Anyway, this 7” is business as usual for both, really. Pretty much what you would expect - White’s possibly-too-slick studio skills tempered by the ‘Temple’s wild-eyed garage pop abandon to make something quite good. If you’re new to the band I’d start on the albums but nobody embarrasses themselves here and if you’re already a fan of Third Man or The People’s Temple then you won’t be disappointed.
