The lovely Clan Destine Records have not only sent us the mind-melting new Femminielli LP this week but also two new and very limited tapes, one of which is this one from Glasgow DIY punky types World Peace, who’ve got former and current members of bands like Divorce, Palms and The Rosary Cruxifiction.
As you’d expect it’s music of the noisy and lo-fi persuasion which is ideally suited to the lowly cassette, thin, trebly guitars, clanking bass and clattery drums push enthusiastically through a series of seven furious, wonky, repetitive post-punk cuts like the bastard offspring of the Delta 5, the aforementioned Divorce and Leeds DIY groovers Beards. It’s brilliant, actually. The shearing trebly sounds sometimes bring to mind Erase Errata but then there’s a repetitive dirge-like thing going on that’s more like Vision Fortune or something. Rad. Love the fold out riso printed insert too. You should get this one.
