Here’s a limited and fancy one-sided 12” from Chicago’s Disappears, featuring Pony/90 Day Man Brian Case and sometimes Sonic Youth Steve Shelley (although not here), on this record they offer two new songs and a rework of ‘Love Drug’ from their recent ‘Pre-Language’ LP. There’s a very nice etching on the other side, too, if you’re into that kind of thing.

Each of the tracks here is slow-burning and atmospheric, with spare, repetitive arrangements and only occasional, unobtrusive vocals. In fact the feel I’m getting from it is somewhere between Bristolian krautrockers Beak> and The National when they’re at their understated best. Brooding hypno-rock goodness.
