Keaton Henson, who is both a visual and a sonic artist, only emerged into the musical sphere a few years ago, but his albums sold out quick. Hence The Vinyl Factory are providing some high-spec reissues. Birthdays is record number two from the mournful songwriter, available on vinyl or as a CD in a special hardback book.

6/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 13th July 2015
Keaton Henson's second album "Birthdays" was released in 2013 and follows on from his 2012 debut, "Dear". It's mostly similar to his first, probably not quite as good, actually. There's one stand-out track, "10am Gard Du Nord". Otherwise it's similarly bland. His nervous-sounding voice can get to be a bit grating, especially listening to a full album. He turns it up a bit on "Kronos", however and ends up sounding like a cross between Placebo and The Cranberries which is just not right. "Beekeeper" stomps along in a more purposeful way than much of his output. I think there'll be a lot of people who haven't picked up on him yet who would really like this, it's just not for me.
