Here’s a fun band I hadn’t heard of before. It’s a raucous garage blues troupe from Memphis, 2001, fronted by ‘68 Comeback and Gibson Bros’ Jeffrey Evans and also featuring James Arthur of New Memphis Legs and Alicja Trout and Jay Reatard of Lost Sounds. Pretty solid line-up, with a three-guitar attack and absence of bass giving it a fuzzed out and trebly sound.

The quartet barrel through 11 songs here, with elements of the scuzzy blues of Gallon Drunk, the sloppy pop gems of Jay’s Reatards, the wild post-blues garage abandon of JSBX or the Dirtbombs, all blended with the motor-oil-slicked rock’n’roll of the 1950s and the surf party stomps of the ‘60s. Good old fashioned Southern style garage rock fun then, basically. Released in an edition of 100 CDs originally, and only 500 LPs now, this probably won't be around too long.
