9/10 Phil Staff review, 14 February 2013

Here’s a dream collaboration for you! In fact some of you may remember these two knocked one off back in the summer of 2010 (called ‘Music For Lovers, Music Versus Time’) which came and went in no time and the squeakuel is called ‘Music For Wobbling, Music Versus Gravity’ which is nothing if not mildly amusing.

So these two quiet guys are back at it again being all quiet everywhere with guitar and piano. It’s a lighthearted quiet affair with some bouncy piano and plucky guitar playing. There are hints of melancholy but it’s a chilled out relaxing listen on the whole. Having said that there’s some glitchy weird experimentation with electronics and lord knows what.

Some of the tracks sound like they’re just mucking and are less songy but others are plain lovely and would placate even the most cynical of folk (like me...). Somehow they’ve managed to shoehorn folk, neoclassical and experimental music into a pastoral jaunty and melancholic sandwich (and regular readers of my reviews will know how much I love sandwiches).

The first press is packaged in a stupidly limited edition of 399 copies in a hand numbered hardback sleeve which looks cushty.
