7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 23rd June 2015

On "Naomi", The Cave Singers sound like a different band to the band that recorded its predecessor, "No Witch". Opener, "Canopy" sounds like the more understated work of Alabama Shakes with a bit of indie-reggae a la Vampire Weekend thrown in. "Have To Pretend" has some nice "Ooo-ooos" that supplement to groove nicely. A

s the album goes on, you can tell it's the same Cave Singers of previous albums. Songs like "Karen's Car" see to that. The rootsy influences are still there but it sounds more refined and it's all the better for it. The better tracks such as "Week To Week" and "Evergreens" seem like a step forward.
