Most bizarre. What I have here is something which starts out like a new age self-improvement piece with smooth, gentle cosmic synth arpeggios and a calm female voice repeating positive mantras for a better you. These gradually become more finance-focused and the synthwork gets slowly more splintered as the voice comfortingly insists “It’s okay for me to be prosperous, I prosper with integrity. It’s okay for me to be prosperous, I prosper with integrity. I make smart buying decisions. I make smart buying decisions.”, etc, before we enter into a stretch of languid, sometimes darkness-streaked instrumental synthwork with a slight Carpenteresque feel to it, but not one of his action sequences, more like where someone’s walking by a dystopian riverbank contemplating an eventful day, but getting a bit more droney and astral later on before closing the side with more new age-isms and cricket chirps.

Flip it and the new age vibes continue with windchimes, panpipes and gentle bassy drones dominating ‘12th Dimensional Light Shield’ before things get more ominous with a two-chord synth pattern alternating creepily as the bass drone morphs into a weird pulsating throb, which then mutates into a bit of murky, pulsating techno with modular loops and more drones. You get the idea, it’s new agey cosmic synth stuff with a bit of a cheeky, darkly subversive edge to it. The lady’s voice turns up again at the end to tell you you’re hypnotising your life better. Pretty cool. I like the goofy sleeve design too.
