The attempts to turn Animal Collective/Panda Bear’s euphoric brand of rave like psychedelia into something approaching chart friendly (circa 1991 maybe) continues unabated with this brash burst of pop music. Starting off somewhere like the beginning bit of ‘Comfy in Nautica’ by Panda Bear but gradually mutating itself into Donna Summer’s ‘State of Independence’ and ends up in a full on Primal Scream raveathon.

I’m not wholly convinced but Phil here is loving it as per his review of their album circa Feb 2012 (almost a whole year ago) where he says “the chorus kicks in and it goes a bit psychedelic like and then towards the end it goes a bit more electronic with a housey vibe”. Uh-oh, he’ll be getting his tie-die leggings out and treating us to his killer dancefloor moves next.
