8/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 17th November 2014

New Yorkers Hollis Brown take their name form the Bob Dylan song “The Ballad of Hollis Brown”. As well as Dylan being an influence they also cite the likes of Creedence Clearwater Revival and Tom Petty. You can hear a history of classic American rock along with a healthy dose of Stones swagger flowing through the songs on “Ride On The Train”. It’s a consistent album with every song being as good as the last. This is definitely one for those who like a bit of alt. country, Americana or classic dusty American rock.
