This debut album of garage rock/indie noise pop by The Switchblade Kid is full of JAMC/Stooges cliches and this genre is sounding all too done to death by now but I guess everything these days has been done before so why not stick to what you know. Tracks like ‘Run Run’ and ‘Switchblade 1’ are pure Creation Records wet dream but then on ‘Liquid Eyes’ we’re treated to a bit of Glasvegas style dreamrock!

‘Switchblade 2’ and ‘Static Bombs’ are a little more rock and roll and I find myself getting into it a little more than I expected, ‘Veronica Sawyer’ seems to be their attempt at a ballad and they finish with a drunken love song simply titled ‘There Ain’t No Love’, after getting loads of retro stuff like this to review recently, this ain’t that bad at all!
