This chap runs the Future Times label and has popped up on L.I.E.S and Ramp Recordings. What we have here is a pretty tidy album of slinky and funky house with lots of tropical / new age synths and occasional synthetic woodwind which sounds terrible on paper but actually sounds alright. The production throughout is pristine and well executed. It's all reasonably laid back and chilled making me wish I was in more tropical climates. Looks like I'll just have to crank the heating up a notch or two. The press release mentions Theo Parrish and Newworldaquarium which are good reference points I guess. Although Everything shimmers and sparkles in a way that's unlike the rawness of Theo's productions. Generally speaking I'm reminded more of old Balaeric house stuff but with the odd slightly weirder twist. I can happily sit listening to this but it's not something I'd be spinning myself save for perhaps the stranger moments as mentioned.
