8/10 Ian Staff review, 24 January 2013

This is some quality dronerock from Follakzoid’s second full length, this four piece from Santiago Chile really know how to press the right buttons (and knobs!). Opening track ‘Trees’ feels like something by Loop but has an old dusty sound to it in a Hawkwind kind of way, looping percussion and delayed guitars are complemented by hazy vocals, imagine Stereolab but with distortion and beards!

Each track has a trance like quality to it very reminiscent to early Fuxa and there are so many bands out there that do this kind of thing (sometimes badly!) but Follakzoid don’t let you down by any means, this will take you to other worlds, maybe even other galaxies and by the time you come back down to earth at the end of closing track ‘Pulsar’ you’ll be booking the next flight to the stars!

8/10 Graham Taylor Customer review, 28th August 2015

Some of us spend an awful lot of time looking for albums that deliver the same epic endless drive-onwards-to-the-distant-horizon quality as the first three Neu! albums. (Well maybe not 2 so much...) The problem is there an awful lot of Neu! inspired bands out there. Mostly they are, at best, a tolerable facsimile but seldom more than that. For my money Follakzoid are one of the very few bands taking that rhythmic pulse and delivering something new with it. Id recommend any of their albums but for my money II is where the balance of old and new means like Goldilocks soup just the right amount of homage with the right amount of original thinking. Its as if Neu! had kept making albums...I mean what further recommendation do you want?
