Who doesn’t like Ty Segall? Nobody worth knowing, from my experience. The hardworking garage dynamo has built up a reputation and body of work in the past five years that most would be happy to achieve in twice that time through relentless touring and recording and a simple instinct for electrifying rock’n’roll and the chaotic alchemy behind it.

This record here is the sole relic from a shortlived trio he played with in 2008 with Andrew Luttrell and David Fox, finally back in print after the initial LP run sold out quickly, and it’s totally blazing. Hi-gain guitars, a Billy Childish cover, some surf instrumentals and some raucous garage rock which still sounds like classic Segall. He doesn’t make bad records. I’d wax lyrical for longer but it’s a busy day today. Suffice to say you should buy this and this week’s Ty Segall & Mikal Cronin reissue post-haste!
