Subtitled ‘a composition for multiple guitars’ this features the axe talents of Jon Attwood (Yellow6), David Tagg, and, amongst others, someone seemingly calling himself Slash. The opening composition consists of pleasant bowed guitar which sounds not unlike the opening strains of a Godspeed You Black Emperor track before the pyrotechnics start. This haunting work cannot prepare you for the second track ‘Evolution One (Percussive)’ which is jarring to the point of being unlistenable. Track three Chime Drone does what it says on the tin with some slightly metallic clanking sounds with a metronome like quality above lower synthier drones, he keeps adding things to the mix creating a wall of mantra-like drones. Whatever next? Melody? Ha!

The final tune ‘Origin Two (Melody)’ creeps along slowly with some very thick sounding guitar textures playing a melody of sorts which kind of reminds me of Sunn O))) or someone with one of their sludgy compositions but played on several detuned guitars. What I like about this record is the variety of composition, each piece is completely different from the previous and there is a progression of sorts from neo-minimal drone to something approaching...well...a tune.
