Initially sounding something like Van Der Graaf Generator playing the songs from ‘Hair’ whilst simultaneously trying to break the world record for guitar solos. It almost kills me to tell you that Warn Defever from His Name Is Alive is involved in this, alongside other American demi-luminaries such as the people from Outrageous Cherry and The Go. The opening track? Well I simply can’t abide it, my dear.

The next one starts off as reasonably mellow prog rock, it reminds me of Polyphonic Spree and Metallica in collaboration. Almost hilariously overblown, where there’s not a guitar screeching its way into infinity, there’s a synth solo squiggling its way to certain death. Strangely the breakdowns are quite sweet and sensitive but that’s the nature of the kind of progressive explorations it is emulating...a good bit followed by something truly horrid.

It’s all the worst bits of ‘70s prog rolled into one record and then adding ABBA to the equation. I hate it, hate it, hate it...even the pop bits...which I like better. The religious cult imagery is also well past its sell by date...BUT I just know that this will float a lot of boats out there it’s like a 52-limbed rock opera, warped West end musical where an ABBA ballad becomes a Thin Lizzy guitar solo at the drop of a double necked guitar.
