Here’s a single from the latest London hopefuls Paradise, starting with the ‘80s-inflected indie-synthpop of ‘Endless Wave’, whose verses are reminding me a little bit of The Oranges Band before some brightly coloured lead guitar and blurry huge-sounding backing vocals come in for a rousing but cheesy chorus that they’ll probably be all over at 6Music such is its succinct radio-readiness. All that reverb even makes it sound a bit Christmassy, how could they possibly fail?

On the flip there’s a less cheesy cut, although it still has some Phil Spector-esque reverb and Christmas sleighbells. It has shades of ‘Stay Another Day’ by East 17. They’re really aiming for the seasonal market, hey?
