I’ve not heard Apostille before, but further investigation reveals it to be Night School honcho Michael Kasparis’s solo thing. ‘Wrong’ is a murky little pop ditty with fractured little organ melodies and slightly buried vocals. It’s got a slightly Christmassy feel towards the end which may be due to a xylophone or similar twinkly noisemaker that plays around in the background, but there’s a kind of blown-out lo-fi feel to it as well.

On the other side there’s ‘The Road To War’ with some weird drum machine beats and awkward discordant synth drift’n’buzz for an altogether odder pop excursion that’s actually reminding me of a really lo-fi Scott Walker. There’s some crazy echo effects on the vocals towards the end too, it’s an unsettling take on familiar ‘80s pop ideas with a gritty lo-fi aesthetic. Cool.
