8/10 Andrew Customer review, 12th August 2014

This will appeal to fans of the Heliocentrics or Madlib in his Yesterdays New Quintet guise. This is really spaced out cosmic funk, Jumping Beans providing a short burst of fuzzy funk, sci-fi electronic squiggles and enough atmospherics to make this suitable as a soundtrack to something like the Andromeda Strain. The 7" is great a real taster for the album, Hammer, Anvil & Stirrup. The flip, Four Samba Electronico ( a twisted version of the albums Samba ModernonI think) gives you more of that abstract grooves and makes the 7 worth picking up (or is it just me who is a sad completist about these things? )
