I still giggle at the band name. The type of utterance an alpha male like my good self would say to a lady at some Hockney exhibition or other. Anyway I should be getting used to it by now as they’ve had a couple of albums out and my initial dislike for the band has softened a little.

The main tune is girl fronted indie-pop at its most heartfelt. Jangly guitars mix with a despondent vocal to leave us with a song that does what all the best seasonal/Christmas songs do mixing pathos with melancholy. She really has a lovely voice sometimes. On the flip there is a more upbeat poppy tune, again the instruments are very understated in a kind of Belle & Sebastian way. In fact this song is very Belle & Sebastian. The final track is more of the same, acute lyrical observations atop pretty indie pop. Ca’t go wrong really.
