- I'm Shakin' by Jack White

Jack White is on a mission to bring blues rock to the masses. Not being content with Blueshammer’s attempt in Ghost World, the Willy Wonka of rock is determined to convert you. ‘I’m Shakin’’ is the fourth single from ‘Blunderbuss’ which is starting to prove to me he’s becoming the Michael Jackson of blues rock (there were nine singles released from ‘Bad’). On the front cover you’ll see a mock-up of what Jack will look like in five years’ time. It’s spooky!
‘I’m Shakin’’ is a jolly ole blues rock track with a quirky riff which is undeniably catchy. The chorus of female backing vocalists going “woo” at sporadic moments is a welcome one and I can totally see the appeal of this tune. It’s a little novelty with its comedy guitar riff (it’s a bit Rhubarb & Custard) but underneath that the song is an homage to some of the great blues artists. I weirdly quite like this.
