7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 2nd November 2014

Crooked Fingers main-man, Eric Bachmann has a tendency to sound like Neil Diamond, which, y’know, is well…fine, but what worries me is that he’s doing his best impression of him rather than singing in his own voice. “Breaks in the Armor” starts nicely with “Typhoon”, a song that builds nicely, nice harmonies built around a simple riff. “Bad Blood” sees him harking back to his Archers of Loaf days a little with the wonky-on-purpose intro and grows into an accomplished song with a sing-a-long chorus. “The Counterfeiter” has a lovely lo-fi inspired sound. “Your Apocalypse” is another catchy song on what is probably my favourite Crooked Fingers album.
