It amuses me that in the press release, this duo are accused of being ‘Synth abusing weirdos’. There doesn’t seem to be much occurring in the way of actual abuse. I’m off to see Swiss dada-noise performance art nutter Sudden Infant tonight, when I release myself from this smell-hole, and I’m expecting a modicum of equipment abuse there. Not here though - this is just a rather eventful, beautifully layered cosmic synth record that wildly oscillates and pulsates in a most heart-stoppingly intense manner.

This is music that has a phosphorescent quality, like if you close your eyes you could imagine being in a huge dome-like hangar with myriad beams and lazers shooting off everywhere. There’s a wonderful lulling kosmische synth line snaking throughout underneath all the other glistening enveloping chaos. It adds an incredibly peaceful element to proceedings, almost harmonium-like in its sleepy spiritual quest.

Flipping over we’re straight into another lengthy piece that is led by an electronic flicker, fizzy undulating cerebral tones and murky indecipherable vocal edits. This track adopts a blunted, slamming 4/4 beat which definitely amps up its floor-filling potential (Sounds a lot like Factory Floor’s recent live forays I reckon) but I still think the piece on the other side is much more fulfilling and mind-expanding. Nice work on the production front from The Sonic Boomster.
