6/10 ReviewBot300 Staff review, 21 November 2012
This band combines the talents of Blue Roses’ Laura Groves and the head-scratchingly-named Tic Zogson of Young Turks infamy. Here they’re making some spacious, slow-paced synthpop with soft, sultry singing and subtle, languorous beats which remind me a little of The xx.
There’s some real classic ‘80s pop things going on as well. Strangely the first side reminds more than one of us of Paul Young’s ‘Wherever I Lay My Hat’, while Kim reckons the song on the flip sounds like Phil Collins. It’s 2012, though, so to put that into the parlance of our times, “this sounds like M83”.
