8/10 Andrew Customer review, 5th September 2014
Soundway, well known for digging up dusty old global classics come correct with a modern bit of dancefloor action here. 4 tracks of latin beats to detonate s dancefloor. On the a side you have teo versions of Alegria, the extended and radio. This tracks hits hard from the off with kicking beats overlaid with the sound of a carnival going on over the, before giving way to a lovely section of chants and twanging melody to lighten the atmosphere. You can just imagine the hands in the air if Norman Jay dropped this in the sunshine at Good Times. The radio mix is slightly different, less of the heavier drums and beats, makes it worth having.
On the flip you get two new tracks, Puxa and Cuka. Puxa is a Spiritual South style broken beat bass heavy dancefloor bomb, again we are all latin/afro kicks, trips along nicely. Cuka strips away that heavy club sound, a rolling samba type groove with more of those chants and skatting over the top (not in that annoying dee wee dee woo doo wop jazz style I hasten to add). Nice change of direction, still a dancefloor track, just ditching some of that heavy bass and more digital sound to orovude a more organic type of beast.
