Dracula Lewis returns with a 45rpm 12” for the excellent Souterrain Transmissions, and he’s on fine form, dispensing four golden nuggets of lo-fi synth ambience for the new-age nightstalker.

You gotta be digging Dracula Lewis’s committed approach to weirdly ethereal yet totally spine chilling composition. Opener ‘Chrome Riderz (Feat. Stargate)’ doesn’t give the game away but the aggressive industrial onslaught of ‘Permafrost’ gives me the frickin’ jeepers! The synths are super dark on this baby and the addition of vocals only adds to the FEAR vibe. Definitely a step up for the lad.

Flip it and the shit-yourself-spooky synth/vox attack continues with ‘Marble Eyes’ before drifting into classic sci-fi/horror soundtrack territory with ‘Spacies’ - a long drifting composition that harks back to previously more blissful releases whilst maintaining the stone cold vibe of this 12”. Out on tour with The Soft Moon soon. Can’t wait!
