10/10 Jack Customer review, 6th January 2015
Sgt Peppers was a feat of musical achievement that was something amazing to behold. It's insane that an album made in the 1960s could sound so fresh and relevant 50 years on. It has it's silly moments, but so does every Beatles album e.g. Yellow Submarine, All Together Now, etc.
7/10 Penrith Steve Customer review, 20th October 2014
It is easy to argue that “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band” is overrated, and it probably is. If you think that it was released in the same year as The Velvet Underground & Nico and “Forever Changes” by Love, they weren’t the only band breaking new ground by this time. It is however, for me an album that I’ve always known, it was in my parent’s house before I was born and that very copy somehow became mine and has moved with me ever since. It is ingrained in me. It doesn’t have their best songs on it though many would say it has their best song, “A Day In The Life”, which is a tremendous piece of work, so who am I to argue? “Getting Better” is also a great song. The album as a whole is a bit silly but if I put it on, I’d listen to it all. Well, apart form “When I’m Sixty-Four”. How can the Beatles do this? I guess that they must be brilliant.
