It’s fun, slick garage pop not a millions miles away from what Mikal Cronin is doing, but with a few gospelly touches and the occasional kind of minimal glam stomp that reminds me of U.S. Girls a little bit. In places it even reminds me of Bikini Kill or something, just totally loose, trebly, sing-song pop with jagged, scratchy guitar tones, fun harmonies and boy/girl call and response vocals. In places it does get a little bit wacky, and there’s a strange song that seems to recall ‘Walk Like An Egyptian’, but overall this is a lively and fun little collection.
