8/10 Brian Staff review, 02 November 2012

Stunning sleeve art aside, this enigmatic record stems from the Boston area and is apparently rumoured to be the work of professional and amateur musicians collaborating. It is a free-spirited long-player indeed that spills with meandering reflective piano minimalism, smoky jazz trails and bashful choral gasps. There’s this mad segue near the end of side one that becomes the final track. It keeps on briefly exploding into Parliament-esque funk. It is one fucking weird record is this and quite beautiful and exploratory with it...

Onto side two and once more the wistful dance of piano takes centre stage, some beautiful flute and other reed instrumentation making for a wonderful pastoral glade of a tune. I love how utterly free-form this record is, the entirety of Mad Music appears just like some evocative practice jam. This particular piece ends with this huge alarming ‘woosh’ like an airlock shutting for some reason. It sounds ace and adds to the overall oddness of this record.
