Forgive me if I get a little emotional during this review but I’ve just got a lovely card and cake from the guys as they found out it was my birthday...thanks everyone. I’m touched. I’m a pro though and I’ll review through the tears. This is a slab of goodness. We just agreed that Italian Beach Babes was officially a ‘not shit’ label. That’s as good a compliment as you are going to get from us. And this EP is full of noisy, saturated, fuzzy officially ‘not shit’ music.

On luminous green vinyl, it’s full of punk-fuelled dark slightly gothy fuzzy pop. One part The Cramps one part Dirty Beaches one part Tad, the second track here is just great, big clanking drums guitars waaaay into the red and sardonic voice. ‘Animal Man’ sounds kind of like L7’s ‘Pretend That You’re Dead’ or something off the Pixies final album. They seem to veer around a few styles, all of them noisy, from barked distorta-wave to something a lot more Suicide-like on the final track which finally turns off the distortion pedal (for a little while anyway). A right royal fuzz fest.
