I once read an article by a guy who went to see Mud in the ‘70s but was so embarrassed that when queueing outside he pretended he was waiting for a bus instead. I mention this as the B side tune here ‘Be Nice’ (okay, I‘ll try) sounds alarmingly like ‘Tiger Feet’. It’s full on late ‘70s glam rock with a bit of an art punk edge. The A side, however, ...

The A side, however, sounds less like Mud and more like Television. It has that whiny, creaky vocal, a boogie woogie guitar that explodes into something more interesting when the chorus arrives. Pure New York underground ‘70s type stuff early punk bit New York Dolls. Co-produced by Edwyn Collins funnily enough.

9/10 Helen Customer review, 6th July 2013

First, I bought the album and heard I Watch You - fell utterly in love. The drums, the keys, those grinding guitars and Charlie's sweetest yelps all came together and I was a goner. But then I hear the B-side, Be Nice, and it's actually better. I spent about a week with that one song on constant replay. A B-side better than the single? Only truly great bands pull that off, really. The band, in my opinion, have already bagged the album of the year title, and it's only July, and if they keep digging for gold like this, then I bet they'll be unstoppable.
