Here, ol’ gravel voice Mark Lanegan covers a tune by ‘70s folk minstrel Karen Dalton and who am I to argue. It’s great. In the background churning strings, sitars and ethnic-sounding instruments swirl around while Mark barked out the lyrics, presumably whilst smoking 20 cigarettes (or alternatively consuming vast quantities of Nicotinell) and slurping on jugs of whisky.

On the flip we get Dalton’s original. I’ve never heard Dalton before, her voice is impossibly high, contrasting with Lanegan’s gruff tones. So something for everyone, a man singing low or a lady singing high - in both cases it’s a great tune.
