Here’s a new collaborative CD by Offthesky with Man Watching The Stars! I’ve not heard of Man Watching The Stars before but it is in fact Brendan Paxton shuffling about on violin. I’m intrigued by the name though as it’s a cool name.

Strangely enough it started off just like the soundtrack to what goes on in my mind when I’m casually glancing up at the stars which I do of an evening when I pop out for a tab. I’m a bit obsessed by the concept of the universe and this soundtracks it very much. Lots of spacey drones with some gorgeous violin work which build up into some strong and moving pieces of music. It’s powerful stuff alright and it’s full bodied with lots of sounds and interesting things going on. The violin accompanies the dronework beautifully creating unique and intense celestial soundscapes. So to recap you've got Brendan on violin and Jason Corder knobtwiddling and together it's a great combo!

Limited to 150 copies on Rural Colours. Lovely!
