There he is on the cover in his hard hat working for the 'Dept. of Disappearance'. Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle's 2nd solo album sounds just like Grandaddy, and is the best thing he's done since the majestic 'Sophtware Slump'. What makes this record so great is the variety of styles on offer as well as many songs being drenched in that true Grandaddy style synth. 'Get Up And Go' annoyed me at first, but it's an earworm, a positive, lovely and very brief call to not be a slacker (!), 'Hangtown' is a slow-burner, 'Your Final Setting Sun' sounds like a romp, but is in fact really dark, and 'Somewhere, There's A someone' is possibly the most heart-breaking song Mr Lytle has ever put to record. Just beautiful. It also rewards repeated listens, and if you are a Grandaddy fan you really ought to not miss this. Terrific!
