Bit mysterious this one, there’s no press release and the sleeves are all hand-coloured and DIY-looking, and it’s whipping our Brian into a frenzy of curiosity, demanding to know who they are. We’ve figured out they’re from Glasgow and play gigs with Divorce and all that lot. The A-side has ‘Ivory And...’, which is a spiky Sonic Youth-esque noise-pop number with splintering guitar-crunch squall passages which do bring to mind the aforementioned Divorce as well as reminding me of mid-’90s types like Cay and Urusei Yatsura. Brilliant stuff. On the B side ‘Geraniums on a Spit’ they take things down a notch for a bit of mid-paced grungey jangle that’s reminding me of Belly and other ‘90s indie rockers. I prefer the crunchy A side but they’re both good songs.
