Well, this is a pretty confusing 7” and I couldn’t initially tell which of these songs was the A side so I’m starting out here with ‘I Kill Foxes’ which is a crunchy post-grunge song which recalls ‘90s artists like Juliana Hatfield or Tracy Bonham or PJ Harvey. Quite traditional songwriting but with crunchy Pixies-esque dynamics between the verse and chorus. It goes off track a little with some pretty intense caterwauling towards the end and then a scrappy clattering guitar workout but there’s some good moments in there.

Now on to what seems to actually be the A side, ‘Elastic Teen Rent’, which has a slinky classic rock aping groove and overtly sexual lyrics and sounds an awful lot like Queen Adreena. Although I’m happier hearing her singing about cunts and cocks than the vivid fox-mangling fantasies of the other side, this is not a record I’ll be listening to again.
